The Highwayman Trilogy [original poems]

Back

These are three poems that I wrote in the summer of 2007, while I was on my road trip. I rebuilt my Dad's old racing bicycle from the 1970s, and rode it about 330 miles. About a week before my 20th birthday, I left home and took the ferry from Digby, Nova Scotia to Saint John, New Brunswick. Over the next couple weeks, I made my way to Gorham, New Hampshire. From there, I got a drive to Ontario. The first poem was written on highway 101 in Nova Scotia. The second poem, I wrote at the Irving Big Stop beside the crossroads of highway 1 and 9 (Airline Road) in Maine. The third poem was at a friend's house on the outskirts of Cornwall, Ontario. I recorded these over approximately the last 10 minutes of light or so. I know, the little guitar bit is so stupidly simple, but I just didn't feel like taking something someone else did.
