Boston deputy fire chief is accused of rape

Boston Deputy Fire Chief Peter P. Pearson, 51, of 142 Village Road, East Bridgewater, is to be arraigned today on charges of aggravated rape, assault with a dangerous weapon, impersonating a police officer and kidnapping while armed with a gun. Pearson, once honored for rushing into a burning house while off-duty to extinguish a fire, was arrested Monday night after a woman once arrested on prostitution charges identified him as her attacker, according to authorities.
