I don't think I can ever forget Cyclone Tracy. The year "Santa never made it into Darwin" - the plane that flew us out, has gone down in the history of Australia as the most people on a plane & we were flown to Adelaide, they did not tell you where you were going until the plane doors were shut, due to hysteria mostly. The RED CROSS were FAB,providing clothing, a toy, a book - in Tasmania recently an exhibit of Cyclone Tracy memorabilia included the book of those who 'survived'& were evacuated

Cool, never knew they stacked $#!+ that high, refering to the termit mounds, ha ha. Gee I wish I could go somewhere to be myself. But that isn't working for me here.

Amazing to hear the story of the cyclone hitting Darwin years ago. Thanks for this, I really enjoyed learning about the town and also those termite sculptures/hills.
